Araluen Botanic Park

Perth hotels

In the forested deep valley of the Darling Range lives the tranquil botanic garden of Araluen. A beautiful natural and developed beauty, this park provides all four seasons worth of activity for the whole family.

Open all year around, the Araluen Botanic Park is wonderfully different in all seasons. But no matter what time you visit you will find some things the same, beautiful streams, grassy picnic and barbeque areas and bush walks that are great for viewing some of the native inhabitants.

There are some absolutely heavenly gardens nestled within the grounds of the Araluen Botanic Park where both exotic and native plants are featured and it is this combination, beauty and care that have created this special park into a heritage listed location.

With rich soil and high rainfall, the keepers of this beautiful park are able to create spectacular terraced gardens that mimic those of other locations internationally. Art and culture is very important and the display of timber and stone structures and water features are all featured heavily throughout the grounds.

A very popular tourist destination in spring, Araluen has a tulip display that draws in thousands of visitors to view the colourful flowers as they burst with life. Other spring blooms are also on display at this time and the sea of colour and the rich air of fragrance is truly a special.

In the summer time Araluen becomes a hub of activity, playing host to concerts, children's activities and art shows in the park one Sunday a month.

The facilities include the wonderful tea rooms and gift shop which become warm and toasty in the winter where you can watch the beautiful gardens by the warmth of a log fire.
