PICA

Perth hotels

Right in the centre of the Perth Cultural Centre is an exciting destination for contemporary art, performance and exhibitions that showcases the best modern art that Perth has to offer. The Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts (PICA) provides access to some of the most exciting arts based festivals and performances all year around.

The large heritage building is located within the cultural centre of Perth, which also includes the State Art Gallery, Library and Museum. A quick walk from the Central Perth Railway station and within minutes from the shopping centre of the city and the diverse eclectic café scene in Northbridge there is plenty to do in the area. At night the street leading up to the cultural centre is a bustle of nightlife when Northbridge transforms into Perth's primary restaurant and nightclub scene.

The Perth Institute of Contemporary Art showcases performance across all art forms including theatre, music and contemporary dance productions by both local and international talent. All you need to do is give the friendly staff a call or drop by the gallery to find out what shows are being performed in the space when you are in town.

The gallery itself is free entry and has a visual arts program that changes every six weeks. The gallery is focused on highlighting Western Australia's best modern visual artists whilst displaying them next to both international and national touring exhibitions. The best way to find out what is on show is to just drop by the centre and have a look for yourself. The work on display is always contemporary, inspiring and thought evoking and offers a wonderful taste of the modern arts trends that are taking the world by storm.
