Perth is holiday destination worthy of a lengthy stay so if you can fit it into your schedule spend some time here getting into the mood of this Western Australian city.

Perth is the capital of Western Australia and perhaps the most remote city in the world with a truly remarkable backdrop and skyline, it feels like you’re in the country or on a beach in Hawaii, yet the majority of Western Australia’s citizens resides here. It is nevertheless a city, packed with stores, retail chains, bars, clubs, everything you would expect a big city to have. If you intend to travel to Perth to experience its breathtaking scenery and amazing beaches, even if you’re not on a budget, staying in a hostel is not only the cheapest form of temporary housing, it is the most exciting and interesting way to make your trip to Perth a good one.

Perth hostels are usually located close to remote tourist attractions that are otherwise difficult to reach, in heavily populated tourist areas, accompanied by night clubs, bars, and restaurants, targeted towards backpackers and youth on a budget. A hostel is essentially a dormitory in which all residents share the same space, or a few spaces, hostels may be small or large, depending on the hostel, most backpackers prefer the smaller cosier hostel, this is the real, communal, hostel experience, this makes it easier to meet people, as opposed to larger hostels which are more isolating and impersonal, they feel a little more similar to hotels or large high school dorms.

Hostels are not only cheaper than hotels, less formal, and less private, modern hostels are packed with amenities, that not even hotels can compete with, flat screen televisions, internet, tour guides, airport shuttle transfers, internet cafes, swimming pools, and even spas. There are a lot of hostels to choose from in Perth, a large majority of hostels in Perth are ideally located around the main bus terminal and nearby train station in Northbridge, the central area for backpackers in Perth. If you’re looking for no hostel in particular, the best place to look is always as close as possible to bus terminals, train stations, restaurants and other amenities, in any case this is usually where most, if not all of the best hostels are situated. If you’re a little bit overwhelmed by the huge selection of hostels, there are a few hostels that you simply can’t go wrong with. Located on second floor of a build over a night club, literally right on top of the party, in the main entertainment district in Perth, also just a few minute walk from Perth’s main train station and the Wellington St. Bus station, not to mention its free bus route, blue CAT, is the backpackers international hostel (Perth), it is a compact and friendly hostel, complete with a smoking area, TV room, Laundry mat, free breakfast, free coffee, cheap bike hire, it is not an over exaggeration when I say this hostel is the crème of the crop of hostels in Perth, all for a price that won’t break the bank, you simply cannot go wrong with this hostel. This hostel does have a reputation for being a partying hostel, if you’re a light sleeper, consider packing earplugs, there are no rules against sexual activity, or loud noise in hostels.

Another excellent hostel, certainly worth of mentioning and of notice is the Western beach lodge located in Scarborough, Perth, on the same road as the backpackers international hostel, mere metres away from the Scarborough beach and a stand out night life scene. Western Beach Lodge is a cozy and friendly hostel, with a clean and homely environment. It offers an impressive amount of amenities at an impeccable price, a Games room, BBQ, Laundry room, TV room, internet, lockers, and free parking. Both of these hostels are superb choices for accommodations in Perth, there is not a bad review on either of these hostels.
